Pairs well with
Once a plant starts flowering it draws harder on phosphorus and potassium than it did in growth, and the feed should follow it. Ionic Bloom is Growth Technology's single-pack hydroponic nutrient for the flowering stage. It is one concentrate carrying every essential mineral, with phosphorus lifted to 0.8% w/v and potassium to 3.3%. It is pH buffered, and formulated clean so it will not block a hydroponic system. Use it at 10ml per litre at each watering, test and adjust the pH to 5.5–6.5, and flush monthly. It will not make a plant flower or fruit; light and the plant decide that. What it does is feed the plant properly once flowering has started. Available in 1L, 5.5L and 20L.

Grower's Tip
- Change over from Ionic Grow as the plants move into flowering, not once the first flowers have opened.
- Mix Ionic into the water first, then any additives, then test and adjust the pH last. Silica is the exception: Growth Technology puts it into the plain water first, with a 15-minute rest, before the Ionic goes in.
- Keep to 10ml per litre unless your EC readings say otherwise. Growth Technology's direction is to adjust the dilution to the conductivity you want.
- If you run Super PK, add it after the Ionic and before you set the pH, at its own label rate.
- Buffered does not mean you can retire the pH pen. Check a recirculating reservoir daily.
- Flush with plain water once a month to clear mineral salts from the media and the lines.
- A 1L bottle makes 100 litres of nutrient solution at 10ml per litre. The 5.5L suits a tent on regular reservoir changes; the 20L is for bigger systems.
How To Mix It
Pairs Well With
The vegetative half of the pair. Same single-pack format, more nitrogen.
Super PK by Growth TechnologyGrowth Technology's phosphorus and potassium booster for the flowering stage. Follow its own label rate.
Silica by Growth TechnologyPotassium silicate for stronger cell walls and stems. Growth Technology's order: Silica into plain water first, rest 15 minutes, then the base nutrient.
pH Down by Growth TechnologyGrowth Technology's direction is to test and adjust to pH 5.5–6.5 after mixing. This is what brings it down.
Meters & Pens – pH & EC TestingpH and EC pens to check the solution after every mix and the reservoir between mixes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Ionic Bloom a one-part nutrient?
Yes. It is a single-pack concentrate with every essential mineral in one bottle. There is no Part A and Part B to mix.
How much Ionic Bloom do I use?
10ml per litre of water at each watering, adjusted to reach the conductivity you want. Flush with plain water once a month.
Will Ionic Bloom make my plants flower?
No. Light, day length and the plant's maturity decide when it flowers. Ionic Bloom feeds the plant properly once flowering has started.
Do I still need to adjust the pH?
Yes. Ionic is pH buffered to keep the solution stable, but Growth Technology's direction is to test and adjust to 5.5–6.5 after the nutrient and any additives are mixed in.
What is the difference between Ionic Grow and Ionic Bloom?
Ionic Bloom carries more phosphorus (0.8% against 0.5% w/v) and potassium (3.3% against 3.2%) and less nitrogen (2.1% against 2.3%). Grow is for the vegetative stage, Bloom for flowering.
Can I use Super PK with Ionic Bloom?
Yes. Growth Technology lists Super PK alongside Ionic Bloom. Mix it in after the Ionic and before you adjust the pH, at its own label rate.
Can I use Ionic Bloom in coco?
It is not what Growth Technology makes for coco. GT lists Ionic for hydroponic systems and formulates GT Coco Bloom A&B specifically for coco fibre.
What EC should I run?
Growth Technology does not publish an EC target for Ionic. Its direction is to adjust the dilution rate to the conductivity you want for your plants and your system.
What is in Ionic Bloom?
Total nitrogen 2.1% w/v (nitrate 2.0, ammonium 0.1), phosphorus 0.8%, potassium 3.3%, calcium 1.1%, magnesium 0.4% and sulfur 0.11%, with iron, manganese, boron, zinc, copper and molybdenum. The full table is in Specifications.
