Pairs well with
Two-part nutrients are a balancing act: two bottles, two measures, and a solution that is only right if both are right. Ionic Grow is Growth Technology's one-bottle alternative for the vegetative stage. It is a complete hydroponic nutrient made with GT's single-pack technology, so every essential mineral sits in one concentrate. It is pH buffered to keep the solution steady, and formulated clean so it does not block a hydroponic system. Mix it at 7–10ml per litre, test and adjust the pH to 5.5–6.5, and feed. Nitrogen is mostly nitrate with a small ammonium fraction. When the plants move into flowering, switch to Ionic Bloom and keep the same routine. It is a hydroponic nutrient: for coco, Growth Technology makes GT Coco A&B. Available in 1L, 5.5L and 20L.

Grower's Tip
- Mix Ionic into the water first, then any additives, then test and adjust the pH last. A pH reading taken before the additives go in is not the pH the roots get. Silica is the exception: Growth Technology puts it into the plain water first, with a 15-minute rest, before the Ionic goes in.
- Start at 7ml per litre on young plants and work towards 10ml as they grow. Let the EC pen decide where you land: Growth Technology's direction is to adjust the dilution to the conductivity you want.
- Buffered does not mean you can retire the pH pen. Plants shift the pH as they feed, so check a recirculating reservoir daily.
- Flush with plain water once a month to clear mineral salts from the media and the lines.
- A 1L bottle makes 100 litres of nutrient solution at 10ml per litre, or about 140 litres at 7ml. The 5.5L suits a tent on regular reservoir changes; the 20L is for bigger systems.
- Switch to Ionic Bloom as the plants move into flowering. Same routine, different bottle.
How To Mix It
Pairs Well With
The flowering half of the pair. Same single-pack format, more phosphorus and potassium.
Silica by Growth TechnologyPotassium silicate for stronger cell walls and stems. Growth Technology's order: Silica into plain water first, rest 15 minutes, then the base nutrient.
Rootzone by Growth TechnologyRoot biostimulant at 0.5–1ml per litre, added to the mixed nutrient every time you mix.
pH Down by Growth TechnologyGrowth Technology's direction is to test and adjust to pH 5.5–6.5 after mixing. This is what brings it down.
Meters & Pens – pH & EC TestingpH and EC pens to check the solution after every mix and the reservoir between mixes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Ionic Grow a one-part nutrient?
Yes. It is a single-pack concentrate with every essential mineral in one bottle. There is no Part A and Part B to mix.
How much Ionic Grow do I use?
7–10ml per litre of water at each watering, adjusted to reach the conductivity you want. Flush with plain water once a month.
Do I still need to adjust the pH?
Yes. Ionic is pH buffered to keep the solution stable, but Growth Technology's direction is to test and adjust to 5.5–6.5 after the nutrient and any additives are mixed in.
When do I switch to Ionic Bloom?
When the plants move into flowering. Ionic Grow is formulated for the vegetative stage and Ionic Bloom for flowering.
Can I use Ionic Grow in coco?
It is not what Growth Technology makes for coco. GT lists Ionic for hydroponic systems and formulates GT Coco A&B specifically for coco fibre, so that is the range we would point a coco grower to.
Will Ionic block my drippers?
No. Growth Technology formulates Ionic as a clean formula to prevent blockages in hydroponic systems. A monthly plain-water flush keeps mineral salts from building up in the lines.
What EC should I run?
Growth Technology does not publish an EC target for Ionic. Its direction is to adjust the dilution rate to the conductivity you want for your plants and your system.
What is in Ionic Grow?
Total nitrogen 2.3% w/v (nitrate 2.2, ammonium 0.1), phosphorus 0.5%, potassium 3.2%, calcium 1.2%, magnesium 0.4% and sulfur 0.12%, with iron, manganese, boron, zinc, copper and molybdenum. The full table is in Specifications.
Which size should I buy?
The 1L makes 100–140 litres of solution, enough to see how it suits your system. The 5.5L suits a tent on regular reservoir changes, and the 20L is for larger systems. 20L drums ship on a flat freight rate.
